		<description><![CDATA[I like your willingness to experiment and report back to us how things are in the real world.  And yet it feels like we as humans are trying so hard to cling to an old habit, driving around in massive boxes where most of the energy goes to pushing the box.    As you mentioned the cost is beyond the range of most of the world, and the embodied energy in the photo panels is another cost.

I agree that the electric bike is the future.It doesn&#039;t make any more economic sense than your system, the math and payback is not  much different.  

Now my electric cargo bike is charged directly from the photovoltaic panels using a $100 MPPT charge controller.  I was running the PV panels to a charge controller,  then to batteries, then to an inverter, then to a converter/battery charger.   By figuring out how to use the PV panels more directly I charge my batteries much more efficiently  and quickly.
