This was the first bike tour for Kurt’s home-made recumbent, and it worked very well. He didn’t have to saw anything off or re-weld anything for the whole trip.
Kurt’s bike design was modeled after after a $2,000 commercial make, but built from $250 in parts, including CroMoly tubing and carbon fiber fork.
Here Kurt’s seen cruising along in comfort about 25 miles into a 50 mile day. With the recumbent design, Kurt reported no significant discomforts after these long days of riding on often hilly terrain.
